1.After you have clicked on the start icon, click on Settings and then Control Panel. Then click on Network setup.

2. If you do not have Dial-up Networking installed which will be indicated by an icon after clicking on My Computer on your desktop you will need to load it by clicking on Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Proceed to double click on Communications and check the Dial-up Networking box. Click ok and maked sure your Windows 95 CD is in the CD-ROM drive.

3.Double Click network on the Control Panel. Make sure that TCP/IP protocol as well as the Dial-up Adapter are installed. If they are not displayed under the header "the following network components are installed" then you will need to click on add. You will be given an option of client, adapter, protocol, and service. Choose adapter if you need to install the Dial-up Adapter. Then choose Microsoft for the company and then Dial-up Adapter. Click ok and the Dial-up Adapter will    then be installed from your Windows 98 CD. To install the TCP/IP protocol, click add then protocol. Once again choose Microsoft and then TCP/IP. Finally, click ok and the TCP/IP protocol will be installed from your Windows 98 CD.

4.Next, double click on TCP/IP. Make sure the circle which reads obtain an IP address automatically is filled in. Click on DNS configuration and make sure the circle which reads enable DNS is filled in. Type in ecpi.com for the domain and your username for the host. For the DNS server search order, type in 208.21.246.3 and then click add. Then in the same    box once again type 208.21.246.2 and then click add. Leave the domain suffix search order blank. Do not fill anything for    the advanced box. Under the WINS configuration menu make sure the disable WINS resoloution box is filled in and finally, click ok twice.

5.To configure the Dial-up Adapter, double click on the Dial-up Adapter from the Network menu. Make sure only TCP/IP is checked on the Bindings Menu and click ok.

.6. The next step is to make a new connection to ECPI. In order to do this you will first need to click
on My Computer. Next click on Dial-up Networking. A box will appear on your screen, you will need to double click on the box that reads make a new connection. In the first blank enter ECPI for the name of the computer you are dialing. Select the modem that you are using and click on configure. Set the communications port accordingly to which port your modem is using. If you are using a 33.6 modem, then change the modem speed to 33600, and if you are using a 57.6 modem set the speed to 57600. Choose next and enter in the modem connection phone number 646-3274 for 33.6 modems and 647-4736 for 57.6 modems. Click    next and finally finish.

7. From the Dial-up Networking box click on the ECPI connection and then right click your mouse
over the icon. Choose the properties of the ECPI connection, then click on server type. Make sure the type of Dial-up server is set to PPP: Windows 98, Windows NT 3.5, Internet. The only boxes that should be check on this menu should be log on to network, enable software compression and
TCP/IP. Click on TCP/IP settings and make sure the circle is filled in next to server assigned IP address. Fill in the circle which reads specify server name addresses. For the primary DNS server,
type in 208.21.246.3 and 208.21.246.2 for secondary DNS server. The use IP header compression
and the use default gateway on remote network should be checked. Click ok three times and you have finished configuring the connection.

8.To log in double click on the ECPI connection. Enter in your username and your password making
sure to check save password. Finally, type in the modem connection phone number as indicated above and click on connect. Once you see a window pop with your connection speed you are now
successfully logged into ECPI using the Windows 98 Dialer.
