| The following section assumes that you have a correct and
stable installation of Windows NT 4.0
- Open My Computer.
- Open Control Panel.
- Open Network.
- Under the Protocols tab, make sure TCP/IP is
installed.
- If it is not, see the Windows NT help files for installation
instructions.
- Highlight TCP/IP and select Properties.
- Under the DNS tab, in the text box labeled Host Name,
type your username.
- In the text box labeled Domain, type ecpi.com.
- Under DNS Server Search Order click the Add button
and enter 216.141.24.3
- Under DNS Server Search Order click the Add button
again and enter 216.141.24.2
- Under the WINS tab, select Disable WINS.
- Click OK and restart your computer.
- After restarting, from My Computer, open Dial Up
Networking.
- Enter ECPI in the text box labeled Phonebook Entry to Dial.
- Click More, then click Edit Entry and Modem
Properties.
- Under the Basic tab, in the text box labeled Phone
Number, type in
- 646-3274 for modems 48.8 and less.
- 647-4736 for 56k modems only.
- Under the Server tab, in the list box labeled Dial Up
Server Type, select PPP.
- Under Network Protocols, make certain that TCP/IP is
selected.
- Select Enable Software Compression and Enable PPP LCP
Extensions.
- Click the button labeled TCP/IP Settings.
- Select Server Assigned IP Address.
- Select Specify Name Server Addresses.
- For Primary DNS enter 216.141.24.3
- For Secondary DNS enter 216.141.24.2
- Select Use IP Header Compression and Use Default
Gateway on Remote Network.
- Click OK.
- Under the Script tab, select None.
- Under the Security tab, select Accept any Authentication
including Clear Text.
- Click OK.
- To Connect to ECPI, Open Dial Up Networking and click Dial.
- A screen labeled Connect to ECPI will appear. Type your
username, password. Leave the space for Domain blank.
- Click OK or Connect.
